The Amsterdam Philosophical Society (pronounced "apes") is a place for curious minded people to meet and discuss matters of life, death, and everything in between. Each month the Society reads and discusses a new book – ranging from Socrates and the ancient Greeks to present day’s Daniel Dennett. The Society aims to provide an opportunity for intellectuals of every persuasion a chance to learn something new. All meetings will be held in English.

We're the English-language chapter of Amnesty International here in Amsterdam, a group for activists who want to learn about and work toward a better world in the area of human rights. We organise film screenings in the Movies that Matter series, public lectures, letter writing events and 'drinks and catch up's. Come along to an event!
